How to "Passive Thoracic Extension Over Foam Roller" ?


    - Place your foam roller on the floor. Lie on your back, over the foam roller (it should be across your back at about the level of the bottom of your shoulder blades). Buttock should be touching the floor and knees should be bent. With your hands behind your head (point elbows to roof), extend back over the roller. It is important to keep your ribs down (do not let them flare) to ensure that the movement is from the thoracic and not lumbar spine. There may be very little movement to start with, don't be impatient. Maintain this position while taking 3-5 deep breathes. You should relax while stretching. Repeat as indicated.
